Condolences from Stephan J. Kramer, Central Council of Jewish in Germany

Conference of European Rabbis
Chief Rabbi Joseph Hayim Sitruk

Dear Rabbi Sitruk,

It is with profound sorry that we learned about the death of Rabbi Aba Dunner Zecher Tzadik Livracha. On behalf of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, its leadership, the Jewish Communities and personally as well as my wife I would like to convey our sincere condolences for this tragic loss that certainly affects so painfully his whole family, his wife, his children, his colleagues as well as friends all over the world and everybody who knew him and loved him.

We all admired his work, his tireless efforts, his engagement and his sense of humour. His voice and his moral authority will be missed.

With our deepest sympathies,

Stephan J. Kramer
Secretary General
Central Council of Jewish in Germany

Condolences from Deidre Berger, AJC

I am devastated to receive the news of Rabbi Aba Dunner’s untimely death. He was a man of great wisdom and insight whose understanding of God and the world made a lasting impression on me. I extend to you and everyone at the CER, as well as to his family, my deepest condolences. His departure from us is a great loss for the Jewish people. It is perhaps a small consolation for some of us that he participated in the initiative to protect Holocaust mass graves and helped facilitate our common efforts in this regard. It is only one of his many great deeds.

In sorry,
Diedre Berger, AJC
